Description

This majestic 5-star hotel is set in a beautiful 840-acre estate with Medieval ruins, an 18-hole championship golf course, luxurious Spa, superb dining facilities as well as trout fishing and horse riding nearby. Scattered around the wooded estate with River Maigue meandering through it are the ruins of a 14th century Augustinian Priory, a 15th century Franciscan friary, and a 12th century castle. The manor-house design work was completed most likely by James Pain along with his brother George Richard. 52 chimneys to commemorate each week of the year, 75 fireplaces and 365 leaded glass windows are decorating the house. The manor-house, dating from 1862, has been converted into the 5-star hotel. The whole project began with the 1987 purchase of the Adare Manor estate by a New Jersey family. Adare Manor has gained international acclaim for its 18-hole championship golf course, designed by the late great Robert Trent Jones Sr.

There are 2 restaurants at Adare Manor, and the Tack Room pub with its open fire and live piano music. The hotel offers 62 elegantly decorated bedrooms, with a further 46 three and four bedroom luxurious villas and 25 two and four bedroom town homes. President Bill Clinton stayed in Adare Manor in September 1998. The Manor was voted Ireland's Leading Hotel in the World Travel Awards.

Adare is regarded as Ireland's prettiest and most picturesque village, a haven for those wishing to escape and unwind taking in its medieval surroundings. The main street of Adare is punctuated with beautiful stone buildings, medieval monasteries and ruins and the picturesque village park.
